Raising money for cancer research can be sweet, especially when it’s in the form of an elephant-shaped sugar cookie! By selling our Hope Fights Childhood Cancer elephant sugar cookies in September 2018, as well as Hope elephant-inspired merchandise and collecting 100% of the french toast sales from our Evening with Santa event in December 2018, we were thrilled to present Dr. Joshua Schiffman with a check for $128,000 from our 2018 Hope Fights Childhood Cancer campaign to be used towards
childhood cancer research. Dr. Schiffman is a childhood cancer researcher, pediatric oncologist and hematologist at Huntsman Cancer Institute who has been continually researching elephant DNA and how it might help unlock the answers to new treatments, better outcomes, and ultimately ending cancer in children and adults.
“Today, we celebrate the joy of childhood with our community, while raising awareness for children currently fighting cancer. We are very grateful for Huntsman Cancer Institute, Huntsman Cancer Foundation, ambassador Kirsten Flores, Thanksgiving Point, and our customers, who have been generous partners in helping us achieve our goals. We remain dedicated to sharing a message of hope with families and children fighting cancer throughout the world. We are actively doing all we can to give children fighting cancer an opportunity to be healthy again, and it is our hope that other companies will join us in that mission as well,” said Kneaders Bakery & Cafe CEO, James Worthington.
Thank you to our partners, supporters and all of YOU who have helped in any way. Whether you bought an elephant sugar cookie and elephant-inspired T-shirt, socks, or other merchandise. Thank you if you shared a photo of the Hope Fights Childhood Cancer campaign through social media or told a friend about it. Thank you to hard-working doctors, like Dr. Schiffman, who continually strive for a better future for children.
We “knead” you!
