Ingredients:

  • 1 15 oz can Garbanzo Beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/4 Cup Tahini (Sesame Puree)
  • 2 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ground Cumin
  • Juice of 1 Lemon
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 3 Tablespoons Water
  • 1 or 2 Jalapeños, fresh

Directions:

Preheat oven to broil.

Place jalapeños on a small sheet pan & place in oven.

Roast until dark brown evenly. Approx. 3-5 minutes.

Remove from oven and place in small bowl & cover with plastic wrap.

Allow to steam for 10 minutes.

Remove plastic wrap and peel skin off of the jalapeños

Roughly chop and set aside. Keep seeds if you prefer spicier.

For the hummus, place remaining ingredients in a food processor & puree for 3 minutes, scraping the sides several times to ensure a creamy texture.

Remove hummus from processor & place in a serving bowl.

Top with a drizzle of olive oil, roasted jalapeño, and chopped cilantro (optional).

Serve with Kneaders Jalapeño Cheddar Bread and enjoy!
